2) How does Marcus Rashford's website and social media promote his brand? Give at least three examples of different pages / posts / images from his website or social media.
Rashford uses a central image taken from a low angle to intrigue people into seeing Marcus as confident and projecting power to show his authenticity and impact on modern society.
Rashford has an Instagram page in which he uses his profile picture of himself in a suit to symbolise power and authority in his designated field.
3) How does Kim Kardashian's website and social media promote her brand? Give at least three examples of different pages / posts / images from her brand websites or social media.
Kim engages with fans through Instagram stories and polls, allowing for real-time interaction and building a personal connection
Kim shares relatable moments, family photos, and behind the scenes content to foster a connection with her audience and show she cares.
Kim has a website and she uses a powerful brand that she made to intrigue the audience and create brand royalty and name through her Instagram.
4) How does Marcus Rashford's online presence use the narrative of his childhood upbringing to create a positive brand identity?
Marcus being a young child with a rough childhood whilst skipping meals supports him and his website to prove his authenticity and willingness to help those who need it by working in shelters when older and giving free school meals to kids who need it. Him being a football player also proves and implies his determination as he decided to retire just to help vulnerable children with the same issues as he had growing up
5) How does Kim Kardashian's website and social media promote other media products or websites using the Kardashian brand (e.g. Keeping Up With The Kardashians TV show)?
Kim regularly shows herself using her own products and glistening which can also be done using editing and whilst promoting on her video she also adds links or images to show the item and link of where to purchase it. She also uses sponsored posts to show people in real time how products such as clothes or make up items may really be.
Representations
1) How does Marcus Rashford use different aspects of mise-en-scene (e.g. clothes/costume/ settings/locations) to create representations of himself on his website and social media?
Marcus uses formal clothing such as a suit to signify his authority and power within the field and willingness to do what he need to all whilst having images of him in his football kit also showing his kid and hobbies never died but the willingness to help others is more important also backing his new career positively.
2) What examples can you find of website pages, social media posts or aspects of his brand that create a positive representation of Marcus Rashford? You may wish to comment on his discussion of family or his campaigns - his page on the FareShare campaign website may help with this question.
The page of Marcus Rashford on Fare Share shows how he is featured as a central figure in the movement to end child food poverty and hunger in UK schools highlighting how he leveraged his personal childhood experiences of food insecurity to challenge systemic problems of hunger in school.
3) How does Marcus Rashford's online presence challenge stereotypes? Think about gender (masculinity), race/ethnicity, social class or football here.
Marcus challenges the stereotype of poor people from poor background amounting to nothing in their life and this was challenged when Marcus made it professional and now decided to make a brand to help those in need,
4) What representation of celebrity is created by Kim Kardashian's website and social media? How are audience encouraged to view celebrity?
Kim K website and social media encourages people and society to view celebrities as God's and major parts of their life. This is because using her brand identity and her massive amount of followers, the audience is forced to see celebrities no less than God's.
5) What gender stereotypes are reinforced or challenged in Kim Kardashian's online presence?
The stereotype of women having to always be beautiful is reinforced as it is shown that all of Kim Kardashians products are related and imply beauty and significance.
On the other hand, the amount of followers and brand identity Kim has subverts the stereotype of women being useless and should always be a housewife. This is subverted through her being a major role in fashion for women and even some men!
